BAIN Downtown offers a wide range of Special Activities, Events and Groups.
NOTE:
Membership in BAIN provides contact information
to sign-up
for activities and events.

BAIN Downtown Membership Meetings
are held every other month on the last Friday afternoon.
A friendly reception allows members and guests a half-hour
to “mix & mingle” upon arrival. Cookies, soda and coffee are
served.
Announcements are made about upcoming events and new members
are introduced.
An expert speaker then talks for about an hour (topics vary)
before opening the floor to a lively Q&A session.

(To continue the camaraderie, most meetings end
with a Happy Hour nearby.)
General Meetings are FREE to Members of BAIN Downtown;
$10 for guests; $5 for members of BAIN Suburbs.
Special Meetings such as our January Kick-Off, Spring
at Sivori, and End-of-Year Party may be at additional cost
(lesser charge or no charge for members).
Members graciously open their
homes for a morning coffee. It's a relaxing way to meet with
other members and socialize in a warm setting. Volunteers
are always welcome! So please let us know if you'd like to
host a Morning Coffee. (BAIN Downtown pays $100 to the
host/hostess.)
Originally designed to welcome
new members to BAIN, this monthly lunch now boasts as many
old-timers as it does newcomers.
Each month a different
restaurant is selected. It’s a great way to socialize with
both old and new members – and discover a new culinary
experience. Luncheons are payable on-site.
Open to members
and non-members.
One of our most popular
activities, each month BAIN members rendezvous at a local
eatery.
Restaurants vary -- from simple parillas to haute
cuisine -- to offer a joyful exploration of the
every-expanding panoply of epicurean delights in Buenos
Aires.
Notices are sent out to the membership (usually the
week prior) to announce the locale, menu options and
approximate pricing. Non-members are also welcome. Dinners
are payable on-site.

Fast becoming a highly popular
new activity, this is the updated version of a "pot luck"
supper... but sounds so much better as "wine & tapas!"
Again, members graciously open their homes for an evening.
Members are asked to bring their favorite dishes
(home-cooked or store-bought) and a bottle of wine (or soda,
as you like). Always a tasty delight and a welcome change of
pace. Again, volunteers are always welcome! So please let us
know if you'd like to host Wine & Tapas at your home. (BAIN
Downtown pays $100 to the host/hostess.)
We usually keep the good spirit
flowing (so to speak) after our Monthly
Meetings by
gathering at a nearby pub to share a few drinks with old
friends and new.
Explore
Buenos Aires and its wealth of culture by joining one of our
private tours.
We visit local museums – both well-known and
hidden jewels – as well as public institutions. Walking
tours are often added, and most outings include an optional
lunch.
$10 Guest Fee for non-members accompanying BAIN
Members.
Day-trips are also in the works.

Our Reading Club meets
about once a month, covering a nice variety of novels and
nonfiction.
We choose a book to be read before the next meeting, and aim
for a lively discussion to create a rewarding, enlightening
and fun experience for all.
Come join us!

Here's a chance to
exchange a book you've read for a new one. Each person may
exchange up to 5 books. It’s a great way to clear your
bookshelves… and replace your old books with new ones…
Our
Book Exchange is scheduled bi-monthly.

Married to an Argentine??? An
offshoot of BAIN, CCC is a social network of ex-pat women
with Argentine husbands or life-partners. Our objective is
to have fun while networking with others married to
Argentines. We meet once a month - sometimes with, sometimes
without husbands - for a variety of activities from wine
tasting to bowling.
CHARITY FUNDRAISERS
BAIN supports organizations that
host fundraisers
in order to help our new community.
SACS/NALE
Send a Child to School/Ninos a la Escuela is
an all volunteer organization that was started by BAIN
members. NALE is a
registered charity (Asociacion Civil) in Argentina. This
group provides individualized backpacks for underprivileged
children filled with school supplies, lab coats, shoes and
socks to children in Greater Buenos Aires so that they may
begin their school year in March prepared and eager to
learn. Volunteers fill and deliver the backpacks directly to
the children. Fund raising is accomplished through various
events, raffles and gratefully accepted corporate donations.
